Finance Officer (Based in Kathmandu)
Number of Vacancy- One (1)
Job Duration: JANUARY 2021 to DECEMBER 2021 with possibilities of extension.
Major Responsibility: S/he will bear overall responsibility to manage the financial transaction i.e. vouchering, financial data recording, meeting the compliances of country law and funding partners. S/he will be responsible to support program staffs relating to the financial matter to implement the project activities. Work in close coordination with Treasurer and respective project focal person. Furthermore, s/he will be responsible to develop the budget during fund raising stage and produce financial report for secretariat.

Forester (Based in Kathmandu with frequent field visit)
Number of Vacancies- One (1)
Job Duration: MARCH 2019 to JAN2020 with possibilities of extension.
Major Responsibility: S/he will coordinate with the staff and supports in the implementation of programs of AFFON in local to district to central level, keeps track on the progress and reports to the program unit. S/he will support the AFFON secretariat in the execution of organizational activities. S/he will be managing overall AFFON management and play bridging role between board and management.
Qualification & Experiences: Master in Forestry with at least 5 years’ experience of working on the forestry sectors with need assessments of local communities, dealing with different actors of the value chain and implementation of livelihood improvement programs. Experience of handling database systems will be given priority. The ideal candidate should possess good skill in Microsoft Office Programs including Excel & Access, has good reporting skills and has fluency in both English as well as Nepali.

Major Responsibility:
Consultation with different groups including AFFON District Chapters, women groups to identify the areas as well as members/groups with the strongest interest and potential for commercial private forestry, assessment of the most promising production sites (in terms of ecological production potential, introduction of new species to improve the production and scale up potential to increase the economic outcome of the production/plantations).
At least 5 years of working experience in forestry sector along with engagement in research activities that involves coordination with different stakeholders including government bodies.
