AFFON Ilam’s Policy visit !

AFFON Ilam conducted a policy visit program to a family forest in the invaluable presence of National Assembly Member Honorable Aagam Prasad Bantawa, Provincial Assembly Member Honorable Kajiman Kagate, Chairperson, District Coordination Committee Illam, Mr. Ganesh Baral, Mayor Mahesh Basnet, Divisional Forest Officer Sanjib Dhakal, Ward Chairpersons of various wards , Central Committee Member AFFON Bhumika Acharya, Legal Committee Member, AFFON Dik Bomjan, Chairperson Illam AFFON, Mr. Rabindra Subedi and other family forest members of AFFON Ilam. The major agenda of the discussion were:

• Products from Family forests should also be provisioned to be sold out like other cash crops .
• Easy loan flow to family forest farmers.
• Family forest owners should also have access to the compensation International community is going to pay for carbon sequestration.
• Difficulties to family forest farmers due to less collaborations and coordination with the all tiers of government.
• Middlemen are getting benefits in place of family forest farmers and no appropriate market value.
