The risk of landslides has been reduced by the plants and trees planted by the farmers on their land. The plants planted in the canals have been traditionally used as a good way to prevent erosion. In the same tree, farmers have suffered because they did not get their due ! Strange as it may seem, the truth is that Nepal consumes 17 million tons of firewood annually, killing more than 8,000 women, and the value of firewood accounts for one-third of Nepal’s gross domestic product.
