AFFON Gorkha organized a dialogue programme on Prospects of Family Forest in the Future in Gorkha Bazaar, the district headquarters amid a function. Honorable, Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperative of Gandaki Province, inaugurated the function in presence of family forest owners of the district. At the function, AFFON’s central President Jog Raj Giri highlighted bright aspects of family forests in the context of people facing problems due to climate extremes and asked the government to clear legal hurdles lying ahead in terms of promoting family forests in barren and unused lands. AFFON has been conducting its nationwide campaign to promote private forest to ensure livelihood of marginalized and backward communities and mitigate global impacts of climate change in Nepal.
